Foreign Student Programmes:

The Rachmaninov Institute normally enrolls approximately 1,200 students per year. We have a department dedicated especially to the education and support of foreign students. The Institute offers all of its normal programmes to foreign students.

The Preparatory Programm is open to young musicians who have a high school education, or to those who are still attending high school but wish to supplement their high school education. A knowledge of the Russian language is not necessary as a Russian language course will be provided as part of study during the Preliminary Course. The Bachelors and Masters Degree programs are open to students who have completed high school and have already obtained some professional qualifications and supplementary education in music. Students entering the Bachelor and Masters programmes should already possess some knowledge of the Russian language. Please see the information under Departments for specific course work.

Each school year consists of two semesters. The first semester begins September the 1st and ends January the 1st; the second semester begins January the 15th and ends July the 1st. Admission to the Rachmaninov Institute is by application. All students should plan to arrive in Tambov several days before classes begin. Please see the details of the application and the contract for Foreign students. Applications are reviewed by commissions consisting of Deans, leading Professors of special departments and the Dean of Foreign Students. Students will promptly be informed of their acceptance by fax, telephone or email.

The overall amount of the tuition (including dormitory fees) is approved yearly by the Board of Senior Faculty Representatives of the Institute. Use of the libraries, practice rooms with pianos and all facilities are open to all students. The current season fees include tuition and dormitory fees is listed below:

Payment is made before the beginning of education for one academic year (two semesters) in rubles (cash) to the pay office Institute. After payment entrants register in the Institute and receive at the education time residence permit in the Tambov city.

Content of Preparatory Program:
1. Russian language (8 hours per week)
2. Specialty (1 hour per week)

Documents needed for to enter in a preparatory course:
1. a document of education (Original) with the list of subjects taken and grades received;
2. a medical certificate;
3. a copy of your national passport (and Original);
4. photo 3x4 – 6 pcs.;
5. medical insurance (3,500 rubles per year) (acquired an insurance company in the city of Tambov, after enrollment in the institute and is paid in cash). Students are given a medical insurance policy.

Accommodation:
Perhaps accommodation in a student hostel in double rooms. Accommodation is included in the cost of teaching. Occupancy in the hostel made after enter in the institute.
